Well, it IS Thanksgiving Day. Among other things I have to be thankful for are the two "Marks" who reliably read and encourage my ramblings. I am thankful that I have family to eat with today. I am thankful for the friends who stick with me even though I am a lazy son-of-a-bitch and don't answer their mail...promptly.

During my early days in radio, I rarely got home for the holiday. If I had anything "traditional" it was because someone brought it to the station for me. At KDWB and later at K101 I was a member of the Kelleher family and spent Thanksgiving with them. At FM104 I was the host and cooked one particularly notable Thanksgiving dinner for 26. During the latter San Francisco days when I was living minimalist my holiday was all over the map. Once, cooked dinner for a bunch of 'dudes' on the spur of the moment and while the turkey cooked argued about how much money it would take to have sex with Michael Jackson. Also had the traditional meal in foreign countries and once with a Taiwanese friend at Tommy's Joynt! My last San Francisco Thanksgiving was in 2001 with friends who still rank in the top five! It's been a good holiday.

I gave up that vegetarian shit after two weeks. I could not continue because I JUST DON'T HATE MYSELF.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all...blog writers and lurkers.

So....how was your Thanksgiving? Mine was swell...except I caught a cold. Climate change is very unhealthy. I missed the Rosie show but enjoyed about 2 hours of puter time reading the blog comments....a couple of my favorites:

Rosie should move to Minnesota and run for the Senate.

I'd rather watch something more creative like 100 gay cannibals juggling bowling balls ?

think they have discovered the source of Mad Cow Disease

Let's see what'll I watch tonight, College Football on ESPN or an NBC show featuring an angry lesbian...hummmm....duh! I wouldn't watch a Rosie show at gunpoint!! She is disgusting!!

Rosie, I served with Carol Burnette: I knew Carol Burnette; Carol Burnette was a friend of mine. Rosie, you're no Carol Burnette.

If you would like to spend a couple of hours reading the 'reviews' like I did ... knock yourself out. click here

Since we're heaping shit on a lesbian, on the other hand, there is Ellen! I did a lot of phone-work (not the mean crap so many guys do...but fun stuff) and when you got a person on the line like this...life was golden! It's from the Ellen show and funny as hell. Rosie couldn't carry this off. It's worth a watch...Click for Ellen

Take care puppies.....

OMG Warren....we're neighbors. I spend as little time in Duluth as possible but sometimes I am around. We'll have to 'do' coffee. I have stopped at that Hinkley White Castle many times although lately my car-companions say they stink up the car and refuse to stop. There used to be a White Castle in West Duluth but it's gone. I was at the Christmas City parade too. Kind of nuts to spend an evening freezing. Wasn't bad this year without a cold wind.

I still like lunch at the Pickwick. Comment often....I love it peeps do.

And the Vikings reign alone at the top of the North! Chicago was introduced to the Minnesota Shamwow! Green Bay probably lost. I didn't pay attention. Heh Heh.
PS: Warren--soon I'll get to the point in my story where I can cram all the SF characters in. Parts of it I dread....parts of it I do not. (For those of you not 'in the know' Jim Gabbert was the owner of K101 prior to when I worked there and Tommy's Joynt is a Haufbrau on Van Ness that has been there forever and features buffalo chili. They also stock the only beer I drink....Bohemia from Mexico.)
